Job Duties
As a Personal Assistant, your responsibilities include:
- Care and Companionship: Support individuals and families during times of need, including incapacitation or family disruption.
- Personal Care: Assist with ambulation, bathing, hygiene, and dressing/undressing.
- Meal Preparation: Plan, prepare, and serve meals, including special dietary needs.
- Health-Related Tasks: Help with medication administration, change non-sterile dressings, and collect specimens under supervision.
- Housekeeping: Perform household tasks such as laundry, dishwashing, and bed-making.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent bending, twisting, and repetitive motions.
- Manual handling of materials.
- Periods of standing, walking, and occasional running.
Requirements
- Languages: English
- Education: Other trades certificate or diploma
- Experience: 1–2 years
- Work Site Environment: Non-smoking
- Credentials: Personal Support Worker Certificate
